Lio 1.1 — July 19, 2026

The first feature release since 1.0 — headlined by iCloud sync.

Sync your library with iCloud

Your songs, sections, loops, charts, and practice state can now stay in step across your Macs, automatically, through your own private iCloud — nothing is stored on our servers. Turn it on in Settings → General → Sync library with iCloud. A small cloud badge next to the timecode shows sync status; click it (or the Sync Now button in Settings) to sync on the spot, and Settings shows when the last sync happened.

See it your way

• Zoom the whole app: View ▸ Zoom In (⌘=) / Zoom Out (⌘−) or the slider in Settings → General magnifies the entire window, 100–150%.
• Tall windows finally make sense: the waveform stops growing past a comfortable height, and the playback controls get bigger instead — easier to hit from a distance.
• New Warm Dark theme in Settings → General, alongside the existing themes.

Smoother practice controls

• Space restarts playback from the top of your loop (or the song); ⇧Space is a plain play/pause at the playhead.
• Bigger jumps: ←/→ jump by the grid size; hold ⇧ for 2 bars, ⌥ for 4, ⌘ for 8, ⇧⌘ for 16.
• Drag the loop brackets to fine-tune a loop — no need to redraw it.
• ⌥-click the waveform to create a section right there, and right-click ▸ "Create Section Here" now works even when the song has no sections yet.
• Snapping is consistent everywhere: hover, click-seek, section edges, and loop brackets all snap to the same grid.

Settings, reorganized

• New About page (version and open-source licenses) and Storage section — see what Lio keeps on disk and clear separated stems you no longer need.
• The sections list in the sidebar now updates the moment you edit.

Plus sync reliability improvements under the hood — edits made on one Mac no longer get overridden just because you opened the song on another.

Lio 1.0 — July 5, 2026

This is Lio, starting fresh at version 1.0.

Lio is a practice player for musicians. Drop in a song and it works out the tempo, beat grid, and musical key on its own, right on your Mac — no upload, nothing sent anywhere. From there you can:

• Slow it down or speed it up without changing the pitch, so you can actually catch the notes.
• Loop any part — drag a bracket over a tricky bit and it snaps to the beat, so the repeat never feels like an awkward jump back.
• Map the song into sections (verse, chorus, bridge…) and jump straight to any of them.
• Keep a library and setlists for the songs you're working on, and send a song (loops, sections, and all) to another Lio user.
• Split a long rehearsal recording into individual songs automatically.
• Record audio from any app on your Mac straight into Lio.
